Bug Fixes

  • If the download of an update was cancelled and then restarted, the download may have hung indefinitely. [AMB-1329]
  • Certain chart types were not correctly supported in the Compare Window and caused a crash. This has been fixed. [MAGUS-26545]
  • The diagonal spacing for the Triangular Array was not calculated. This has been fixed. [AMB-2780]

  • A separate button has been added to the Ribbon to allow opening of the Compare Window. The Compare Window no longer takes focus when a Design is added to a Compare Set. [MAGUS-25426]
  • In some cases, when setting a single Objective value at the extremes of the limits imposed by Antenna Magus, Smart Design may not have suggested values for other Objectives that result in a valid design. This has been improved. [MAGUS-25980]

Bug Fixes

  • When exporting models from Export Mode, exported files with no extensions may have been saved to disk if the "hide known file extensions" setting was turned on. This has been corrected. [AMB-2765]
  • In some cases the headers in the extracted results tables shown below charts may have caused confusion due to mis-alignment. This has been improved. [AMB-1318]
  • When manually entering small numbers (close to zero) in the Chart Tracing tool, these may have been rounded to zero. The tolerance has been improved. [AMB-1334]
  • When switching between different Prototypes in the collection, error messages may not have been correctly displayed in some cases. [AMB-1338]
  • The 'Updating...' message for the 3D Preview in Design Mode may have remained visible even after the preview was fully updated if a Design was included in a Compare Set. This has been fixed. [AMB-2708]
  • Feedback has been improved in the case where Antenna Magus is unable to launch a model in the target program after using the Export and Open functionality. [AMB-2718]
  • Where firewall exceptions could not be added for whatever reason, the Antenna Magus installation may have failed. This has been improved. [AMB-2727]
  • When exporting data from the Chart Tracing tool, the align data setting was not working. This has been fixed. [AMB-2730]
  • When Reverting to a Backup, a New Empty Specification was created unnecessarily in some cases. [AMB-2738]
  • After importing data into the Chart Tracing Tool from a text file, the main Antenna Magus window received the focus, hiding the Chart Tracing Tool. This has been corrected. [AMB-2741]
  • When estimating the Planar Bowtie for a 2.4GHz design, an exception occurred. This has been fixed. [AMB-2746]
  • An exception may have occurred in some cases after deleting an Array while the Compare Window was open. [AMB-2748]
  • If an MD5 check fails when downloading an update, the update process may have terminated incorrectly. This has been improved and the error is logged for debugging purposes. [AMB-2749]
  • In some cases if a Prototype was removed from the Collection while an Estimate was underway, the Estimation may not have been correctly terminated and the user incorrectly prompted to terminate the Estimation when closing Antenna Magus. [AMB-2751]
  • In some cases, after cancelling a Performance Estimation and Exception may have occurred. [AMB-2755]
  • When switching to the Synthesised Pattern view in the Array Tool in some cases an Exception may have occurred for some large layouts. [AMB-2756]
  • In some cases, C++ redistributables may not have been correctly installed. This has been improved. [AMB-2771]
  • When concurrently estimating designs from multiple Prototypes, newly calculated data may not have been correctly added to some charts. This has been corrected so that all charts show the correct data. [AMB-2774]
  • If a Standard Specification was added to the My Specifications list while the Name filter was applied, the Specification may not have shown in the My Specifications list till the filter was cleared. This has been fixed. [AMB-1285]

  • When viewing information in the Info Browser or Quick Summary view in Find Mode, a zoom control has been added to allow the font and image sizes to be adjusted. In addition, paging options have been added to the Info Browser. [MAGUS-22148]
  • When exporting a report, the 'Export report' button now shows a busy indicator while the report is being generated. [MAGUS-6247]
  • In the Collection, a busy indicator has been added to indicate which Prototypes in the Collection have one or more Designs or Tweaks that are busy with a Performance Estimation. [MAGUS-15296]

Bug fixes

  • A crash may have resulted when right-clicking on a password-protected Custom Template. [AMB-1359]

  • The CST Microwave Studio export model for the Microstrip shorted shunt stub matching transition could not open in the 2018 version of CST Microwave Studio. This has been fixed. [AMB-42]
  • When adding certain attachments to Custom Templates, Antenna Magus may have crashed. [AMB-2726]
  • After deleting a Prototype from the Collection and restarting Antenna Magus, selecting the Compare Window from the Start Page may have caused a crash. [AMB-2709]
  • In certain cases, when opening the Compare Window from Design Mode after startup, Antenna Magus may have crashed. [AMB-2707]
  • In certain cases the creation of a Backup my have failed with a message 'An internal error occurred whilst saving the application state'. This has been made more robust. [AMB-2630]
  • A "1" was unnecessarily Appended to all Design Objective Group names, even when there was only 1 Group of that type. [AMB-1346]
  • The titles of 3D previews in the Compare Window did not always correctly update if a Prototype was renamed. [AMB-2704]
  • The Export and Open functionality may not have worked correctly on systems where the CST Microwave Studio installed registry keys have been adjusted. The mechanism has ben changed to avoid this as far as possible. [AMB-2706]
  • When importing element patterns in .ffs or .ffe format into the Array Tool, a crash may have occurred for some cases. [AMB-2717]
  • Unnecessary duplicate warnings in the Array Tool will no longer be shown. [AMB-1351]
  • When exporting a PowerPoint report containing designs of certain cavity-backed spiral antennas, the report generation may have failed. This has been corrected. [AMB-2743]

2018.0.1 Release Notes

New or improved functionality

  • A 'center' button has been added to the Ribbon that will center and zoom to the currently selected 3D Model Preview. [MAGUS-25536]
  • Where a Design is incomplete or has errors, the 3D Preview Model shown may not represent the design values, but rather use a previously calculated representation. Feedback (in the form of a gray background and tooltip message) has been added to indicate this and avoid confusion [MAGUS-25472]
  • Feedback regarding potential failures when generating a 3D Preview has been improved [MAGUS-25412]
  • When showing/hiding the Bounding Box in the 3D Preview, Spatial Limitations from the Specification are also hidden [MAGUS-25409]
  • When selecting a different color for a Design or Tweak, 2D Charts showing results for that Design or Tweak may have been very slow to update. This performance has been improved. [MAGUS-23660]
  • Where additional filters are added to the Waveguide Library, the remove action (red cross) only appears when the mouse is placed over a filter item [MAGUS-19708]

Bug fixes

  • The Compare Window no longer grabs focus when the Performace Estimation of a Prototype referenced in a Compare Set completes. [AMB-1367]
  • When exporting data from an Antenna Magus plot, a crash may have occured in some cases. This has been fixed. [AMB-1381]
  • If a 3D Preview image was exported to file or to the clipcoard, the rotation of the image may have been incorrect. this has been fixed. [AMB-1355]
  • When removing an Array layout from an Array Collection item, the Antenna Magus state may not have been correctly updated and the removed layout may have re-appeared after restarting Antenna Magus. [AMB-1366]
  • In some cases, the Spatial Limits did not show in the Compare Window when limits were added to the Specification. [AMB-1383]
  • In some cases, when removing a design from a Compare Set, the charts may not have correctly updated to reflect the change. [AMB-1372]
  • When restoring from v7.3.0 to v8.0.0 using a backup that contains Custom Templates a crash may have occured. [AMB-1371]
  • When clicking on a Compare Set on the Start Page directly after restarting Antenna Magus, no Compare Set may have been selected and an unexpected error may have occured. [AMB-1380, AMB-1364]
  • In some cases extracted values (tabulated below all 2D charts) may have failed, resulting in an empty table. This has been fixed and additional logging has been added to assist with diagnosis of future extraction errors. [AMB-2602, VS-1294, AMB-1361, AMB-2603]
  • When deleting a Property Group in the Specification Editor the Antenna Magus application window may have minimised unexpectedly. This has been fixed. [AMB-1384]
  • When a Compare set is selected for the first time or when a new design was added to the Compare Set the scaling factor of the Model Previews may not have been correctly updated. [AMB-1382]
  • Some workflows may have resulted in duplicate Keywords being shown in Find Mode. This has been corrected. [AMB-2622]
  • Duplicate warnings may have been produced when designing an array layout in the Array Tool. [AMB-1351]
  • The 3D Preview Model for the Waveguide-fed corrugated horn may have failed unexpectedly when Tweaking the length of the waveguide. [AMB-43]

  • The checkboxes controling visibility of traces on Graphs in the Compare Window may have incorrectly revert to all shown when adding/removing Designs to/from a Compare Set [AMB-1324]
  • In some workflows it was possible to create more than one Empty Specification resulting in errors when Saving or Loading a Backup. [AMB-1365]
  • If a Prototype, referenced in a Compare Set is removed from the Collection before the Compare Window has fully loaded, Antenna Magus may have crashed. [AMB-1370]
  • In some cases when re-opening Antenna Magus spaces in the Property Group names in some Specifications may have been stripped out. [AMB-1373]

  • When Estimating the performance of the Planar blade antenna, the impact of the value of the 'notch2' variable was not correctly accounted for. [MAGUS-25411]
  • When designing the Pattern-fed Gregorian dual-reflector antenna, certain objective combinations may have caused an exception. This has been fixed. [MAGUS-25376]
  • The default reference impedance value for the Vertical trapezoidal monopole has been changed to the correct value of 50 Ohm. [MAGUS-24069]
  • A large number of existing antenna Templates have been expanded to allow faster Performance Estimation for default design cases and to have more flexible Tweaking options.

New or improved functionality

  • Spatial Limitations - representing available length, area or volume - may be added to Specifications. Each design is compared with these limitations to determine whether it could fit and the closest fit is shown in Design Mode and the Compare Window.
  • The 3D Preview view of all designs may be panned (shifted) in addition to the zoom and rotate already available in previous updates.
  • The legends for all traces that are calculated during Performance Estimation and the names of all Charts have been made more consistent to enable easier comparison in Design Mode and in the Compare Window.
  • Some Objectives in some antenna Templates can only accept a fixed number of discrete values. When using a Specification for Design, the closest acceptable value is now chosen where the Specification value does not exactly match the discrete values. This improves the validity of the design for the Specification. [MAGUS-25418]
  • Toolbox calculators now have default values. [MAGUS-25085]
  • Caching of 3D preview models of Antenna Designs in the application state has been added to improve performance. [MAGUS-25194,MAGUS-25224,MAGUS-25217]
  • Antenna Magus now indicates higher-order modes where these may be relevant. [MAGUS-24475]
  • 10 dB beamwidth (rather than 3 dB beamwidth) can be used in Specifications. More Templates will be expanded in future updates to use this specified value directly for design. [MAGUS-25139, MAGUS-22851]

Bug Fixes

  • The installer now correctly removes the GettingStarted folder on un-install/update. [MAGUS-23556]
  • The positioning of Bounding Box values on the 3D Preview has been improved. [MAGUS-25160]

    • When attempting to access newsletter for Antenna Magus Version 4.4 from the Antenna Magus blog does not work [VS-610]
    • The 'Not' indication in the Keyword list hid the colour of the keyword. This has been fixed. [MAGUS-21589]
    • When restoring a Backup that contains designs for the quad-ridged conical horn antenna, an exception may have occurred. This has been fixed. [MAGUS-25029]
    • For some cases incorrect reference impedance values may have been shown for antennas which employ a waveguide feed. These values are now not shown. [MAGUS-24700]
    • If a value was entered into a Specification that was out of range, Antenna Magus may have given an exception at startup. This has been fixed. [MAGUS-25094]

  • When designing a static antenna prototype, the design may have been assigned a transparent colour. [MAGUS-24484]

  • Adjustments to the parameter values of the planar Trapezoidal monopole antenna were not correctly reflected in the 3D Model preview for some combinations of parameter values. This has been corrected.
  • After designing or adjusting parameter values, the 3D-preview for various reflector antennas have taken an excessive amount of time to update. This has been improved.
  • When updating an Antenna Magus installation using the Auto Update mechanism, the update may have silently failed if there was insufficient disk space available to complete the update. This is now checked and a warning is shown.
  • When using the array tool, certain errors were not correctly managed and displayed. This could have resulted in incorrect de-activation of the 'Modify' button.
  • When exporting a model that has been included in an Expansion Package, after editing the design objectives but not completing the design process, unexpected objective values may have been included in the exported model. This has been modified so that the last-used design objective values are exported.
  • The icon to be used for a specified product in an Expansion Package is now used and can be activated/deactivated, for find mode, in the indicator settings.
  • If Antenna Magus was started with an invalid Expansion Package File, an unexpected license error may have resulted. This is now managed in a more friendly fashion.
  • When building an Expansion Package, the states available for different models have been streamlined. Models may be in Complete, Partial or Withheld state. Older expansion package setup files that may contain Draft or Unvalidated model states will be correctly converted at load time.
  • When deleting values from a specification in the Specification library, these values may not have been properly cleared from the state backup, making them re-appear when reopening the specification at a later stage.
  • When editing a Specification in the Specification Library or in the Specification tab in Desing Mode, the number of input values provided for each Property Group is now indicated on the Property Group selector.

Smart Design workflow

  • Values for unspecified Design Objectives are intelligently suggested and used for design where needed.
  • Objectives are grouped in the palette by type and each grouping contains a calculator to convert related objective representations.

  • Local Specifications may be populated from Specifications in the Library shortlist.
  • A visible indication of differences between Design Objective values and Local Specification values is provided.

  • A library of typical specifications for a variety of applications has been added. Custom specifications can be added and existing specifications edited or expanded using helpful information capturing tools.

Easy update checking and installation

  • An option has been added to check for new updates that may be available for the current Antenna Magus version. Available updates can be downloaded and installed automatically from within Antenna Magus.
  • On the Antenna Magus website, full updates for all versions are available. In addition smaller patch updates may be downloaded to reduce file-size.

Other feature extensions and improvements:

  • Images and data of various types can now be exported to the clipboard or to applicable file formats from the Antenna Magus workspace.
  • In the info-browser, additional options have been added to allow batch removal of all/some documents.
  • A zoom action has been added to each of the sub-parts of the workspace. This allows a better view when needed.

  • When working with the units converter tool in the Toolbox, the unit of all values are now shown in the input and output.

  • Two additional design groups have been added to the resonant series-fed patch antenna. These design options allow for more flexibility in the choice of excitation distribution that is designed for.
  • Previously, licence files for purchased perpetual licences of Antenna Magus were created to expire every 6 months, at which point a new licence file would be retrieved from the Antenna Magus licence server (this would happen automatically in the background where an internet connection is available). The expiry period has been extended to 1 year so that users that do not have internet access and require manually-generated licence files only need to receive a new licence file once per year.
  • The Array synthesis tool has been extended to allow for the consideration of reflecting ground planes in the pattern calculation. The ground planes may be parallel to any of the principle planes and offset by an arbitrary distance.
  • When installing Antenna Magus Version 4.3, there may have been an error during the installation relating to certain C++ redistributables, resulting in a failure when Antenna Magus is started. This has been resolved.
  • A number of export models may have failed when loading into the latest version of CST Microwave Studio (Version 2013). These issues have been resolved.
  • In a number of information documents, the text "\lambda" was shown instead of the corresponding Greek character. This has been corrected.
  • In a number of export models for CST STUDIO SUITE®, visualisation settings may have been poorly chosen. These settings have no effect on the results of simulation, but have been improved to improve model visualisation.
  • In some cases, when estimating the performance of the rectangular cavity backed spiral, the gain vs frequency performance may not have been shown. This has been corrected.
  • When entering a new substrate definition into the substrate library, the displayed limits for relative permittivity were incorrect. This may have caused some confusion and has been corrected.
  • When tweaking the values of designed offset-fed reflector antennas, an out-of-range error may have been incorrectly displayed for negative offset angles. This has been corrected.
  • When starting up Antenna Magus, the splash-screen may have appeared on top of all windows and not moved to the background when shifting focus to another application. This has been improved.
  • When tweaking designed values of variables of the Potter Horn while in Export Mode, an exception may have been triggered due to an error in a message. This has been corrected.

  • The performance estimate speed has been dramatically increased when using the pre-optimised design for a standard X-band horn antenna.
  • When working with separable excitation distributions in a planar array in the Array Tool, it was not clear whether certain warnings were applicable to the x- or y- directed distribution or both. This has been improved.
  • When designing the Cross-T DRA for wide bandwidth performance, or for more than 2 arms, unexpected design failures may have occurred. These have been improved.
  • When designing the Stepped microstrip transition or the coax-to parallel wire transition, poor designs may have resulted in some cases. These have been improved.
  • When designing isolated cases of the Aperture coupled patch antenna, a crash may have occurred. This has been resolved.
  • The radiation patterns calculated by the Estimated Performance algorithms of of some of the bow-tie structures only calculate the radiation pattern in one half-space. This could lead to confusion, ans a note in this regard has been added.

  • New chart type options have been added that allow the plotting of co- and cross-polarised gain based on the Ludwig III method.
  • When exporting data from a 2D Chart, an additional option is available that allows the number of sample points (equally-spaced) to be chosen.
  • 3D radiation patterns may be plotted showing the co- and cross-polarised gain based on the Ludwig III method.
  • Pattern files may be exported to the VSS format used by the AWR Design Environment.

Additional, general features and improvements

  • Full 3D pattern displays have been added to the Performance Estimation of Antennas. These can be exported to various 3D pattern file formats for use outside of Antenna Magus
  • When exporting 3D patterns to a *.tsv file, the total radiated power in the pattern is included in the file header. This makes it possible to use these patterns in other tools and systems.
  • The Array synthesis tool has been modified to aid quick selection of an array layout
  • Specific information to aid the setup of an array layout has been added to the Array synthesis tool
  • The import and export of Distribution Matrix files (describing array layouts) now includes frequency and unit information

  • If the 'number_of_turns' parameter in the Microwave Studio export model for the Cavity-backed Log spiral was changed in Microwave Studio, reevaluation of the model may have failed. The parametrisation has been fixed.

Antenna improvements and changes

  • A low-fidelity design for the Log-periodic dipole (fewer elements and less stringent performance criteria than the standard design) has been added for use in applications with relaxed system requirements.
  • Additional warnings have been added when designing patches on electrically thick substrates where impedance performance may be poor (this is particularly relevant for rectangular edge-fed patch antennas that include quarter-wave matching sections).
  • For some electrically large examples, the 3D preview of the shroud reflector antenna may have failed to render in Antenna Magus. THis has been fixed.
  • When running the internal performance estimation for the Zigzag LPDA, Antenna Magus may have given an error when displaying the results. This has been fixed.
  • The frequency range for display of internal performance estimation results of the Discone antenna has been extended.
  • The information documents of various antennas have been updated to improve consistency and information quality.
  • A number of design error messages and warnings have been improved to provide more useful design feedback.

Feature extensions and improvements

  • When exporting certain estimated performance results to tab-separated text format (*.tsv) the file format may not have been compatible with some standard text editors. All files are now always exported in simple UTF-8.
  • When exporting large numbers of PowerPoint reports, excessive memory usage may have resulted. This has been improved.
  • When exporting PowerPoint reports, the visibility of traces was not always correctly handled.
  • For certain cases, some of the model parameter definitions may have been hidden when in the Model export view, and no scroll bar was available to scroll and see these definitions. The parameter definitions can now always bee reached.

Antenna improvements and changes

  • The internal analysis speed for various antennas has been improved.
  • The design algorithms for some antennas has been accelerated.
  • The selection options for certain enumerated objectives have been improved.
  • For certain export model (where relevant) multiple files are generated by Antenna Magus. These are saved in a Zip archive when exporting the model in question.
  • The flare-angle is now shown as a derived parameter for antennas in the bicone group. Additional derived parameters (pitch angle, turn spacing and wire length) are shown for antennas in the helix family (where applicable).

Feature extensions and improvements

  • When plotting VSWR and S11 in an impedance chart group, the traces were not always smooth. This has been improved.
  • For certain cases, the normalisation factor used for the display of synthesysed patterns for arrays was not correct. This resulted in incorrect values of gain being displayed. This has been improved. (Please note that there are still isolated cases where incorrect values are displayed. These will be resolved in a future version.)
  • The Antenna Magus installation has been certified and signed. This will help avoid unnecessary operating system warnings during installation.

Antenna and array synthesis tool improvements and changes

  • When synthesizing a cylindrical array, the number of elements in the array may have been incorrectly calculated, resulting in an incorrect layout and synthesized pattern display.
  • For some cases, the performance estimation algorithm for the elliptical base strip monopole may have given unexpected error - these errors have been addressed.
  • For specific combinations of array layouts and element patterns, a crash may have occurred while rendering the synthesized pattern. This has been corrected.
  • With certain display cards and settings, rendering during animation of the thumbnail images of antennas may have been poor. This has been improved.
  • When designing the rectangular Dielectric Resonator antenna or Quadrifilar antennas for certain objective sets, unexpected errors may have been encountered. These errors have been addressed.
  • Additional derived parameters have been added to antennas in the Normal mode helix and biconical antenna classes.
  • Some tags have been added and updated to improve the accuracy and flexibility of the find mode.
  • Warning and error messages have been improved.
  • Small improvements and additions to information in the Information documents of specific antennas.

Feature extensions and improvements

  • On a system with multiple users, a windows installer error may have been encountered when running Antenna Magus by double-clicking on a desktop or start menu shortcut while logged in as a user that did not perform the initial Antenna Magus installation. This problem has been corrected in the installer.
  • When viewing a chart, the format tab on the ribbon may have become inaccessible. This has now been corrected.
  • An exception may have occurred when all design and tweaks of an antenna were deleted leaving only one design in the designs and tweaks list. This has been fixed.
  • Under certain circumstances when exporting a *.pdf file of an article or Antenna Information document, the export could have failed without giving an error or warning.
  • The Antenna Magus license server has been improved and updated to ensure better responsiveness when using automatic license updating.
  • Memory usage and general performance has been improved.

Antenna design and model improvements

  • A new design objective has been added for the Log-periodic dipole array to allow designs for less stringent impedance performance if required.
  • The Log-periodic dipole array may now be designed for a frequency only if this is required (default values used for all other performance objectives).
  • The "Base element spacing" parameter has been removed from the Log-periodic dipole array parameter list, as it does not influence the model directly (This value is still available in exported models).
  • The maximum value for substrate relative permittivity when designing the Rectangular dual-edge-fed patch was reduced to 5.5.
  • When directly exporting a model for the Orthogonal Log-periodic dipole array antenna, the default values were not sensible and may have resulted in an error when opening the model. This has been fixed.
  • In certain cases, the 3D preview of the open-ended Quadrifilar helix antenna may have shown the helical rotation in the wrong direction. This has been corrected.
  • For certain high-frequency designs, the internal analysis of the quad-ridged dual-polarised pyramidal horn antenna may have resulted in an error. This has been corrected.

Added product features and improvements

  • All Versions (Evaluation, Professional and Classroom) of Antenna Magus may now be installed through Remote Desktop.
  • Array Synthesis tool performance improvements
  • Angular resolution for array patterns no longer has to be manually specified. All exported 3D patterns (*.tsv, *.ffe or *.ffs) are exported with a 1-degree angular resolution.
  • Fixed progress bar errors which occurred when performing multiple estimations.

  • A 'Recently used substrates' list has been added that can be accessed from the design palette.
  • A short-cut to the Substrate library is available in the design palette where any substrate is used.
  • Substrates added in the design pallet can be added to the substrate library shortlist directly from the design palette.
  • When the substrate library is launched from the design palette, a substrate can be selected and used in the design using the 'Use substrate' button.
  • A display filter based on values of substrate properties has been added to aid searching for specific substrates. A tolerance is included for all values.

Information Browser extension and improvement

  • A special side-by-side comparison option has been added to allow 2 antenna information documents to be viewed in a side-by-side layout. The corresponding sections of the information document are aligned to aid comparison.
  • Antenna Magus Help files and articles on antenna-related topics can be accessed from the Info Browser Home page.
  • The scrollbar position of each active document or comparison in the Info Browser is remembered and maintained when switching between items.
  • A Quick-access home page has been added to the Info Browser.
  • Title-bars added to documents that are being viewed in the Info Browser.
  • The list of documents shown in the Info Browser is decoupled from the Antenna Magus collection content. Documents can be added to the Info Browser from the Home page, by clicking on the 'Info' button on an antenna thumbnail in the Find mode or using the 'Add to Info Browser' button in the Ribbon.
  • The 'Info' button on antenna thumbnails in the Find mode only adds the information document to the Info Browser, but does not launch Info Browser window.

Antenna improvements and changes

  • Internal analysis speed improved for the Elliptical pin fed circular polarised patch.
  • Solid Bicone design for "optimal size" larger than design for "optimal performance". This design has been improved.
  • For some cases, performance estimation for the Dual microstrip-edge-fed patch and Folded dipole antenna may have been incorrectly disabled.
  • Some error messages for the rectangular edge-fed patch and circular EM-coupled patch designs have been corrected.
  • When designing a rectangular stacked patch antenna, S11 was always plotted in a 50 Ohm system, even when the design was for 75 Ohm. The correct impedance is now used.
  • The model notes in biquad antenna export models now discuss the use of symmetry.
  • When exporting a Wire discone model, the upper limits on the parameter values was not correctly applied. This may have resulted in incorrect models.
  • When estimating the performance of the Horn-fed Cassegrain antenna an error may have occurred for certain parameter sets. This has now been addressed.
  • When designing a printed LPDA antenna, the objective ranges were not correctly applied.

Additional, general features and improvements

  • When viewing 3D antenna images, 3D patterns and 3D pattern layout, interactive 3D rotation of the display using the mouse is possible (this replaces the pre-defined animations in the 3D view).
  • An 'Export and Open' Model button has been added in the Export Mode, to save and launch a model in CST MICROWAVE STUDIO or FEKO® directly.
  • The reference impedance used to calculate VSWR or Reflection coefficient can be modified independently for each design or tweak in the indicator graph of the zoomed view or impedance vs frequency charts.
  • Antenna Magus periodically creates automatic backups to avoid loss of information in the event of a system failure or power loss. When the system is restored and Antenna Magus reopened, the last state of all work will be restored.
  • A information pop-up on collection items indicates when an internal analysis for that item has been completed.
  • Antennas and array items in the collection may be reordered.
  • If an item is removed from the collection, Antenna Magus asks for confirmation before deleting the item if the item contains computed design or estimation information.
  • When closing Antenna Magus, any currently running tasks are listed, allowing the user to cancel the close, wait until all tasks are completed or force Antenna Magus to abort the tasks before closing Antenna Magus.
  • Various additional models made available for CST STUDIO SUITE® and FEKO®.
  • When in find mode, pressing 'enter' adds the selected antenna to the collection and switches to design mode.
  • Double-clicking on a 3D chart, 3D pattern view or 3D array layout view in tiled view switched to Single View mode. When in Single view mode, double clicking switches the view back to tiled mode.
  • Sliders do not use nudge increments, but jump to the clicked position on the slider.

  • Color blocks assigned to specific designs and tweaks are not shown until a performance estimation has been completed.
